Kené is an experienced sustainability leader. He is currently Campaigns Director at Tesco, where he leads the company’s public and stakeholder engagement on key societal issues including climate change, food waste, plastics and food sourcing.
Prior to this, he spent six years as Tesco’s Head of Environment, delivering Tesco’s roadmaps to 100% renewable electricity and sustainable soy, roll-out of UK’s largest retail network of electric vehicles charging points, the launch of the £10 million Cerrado fund to address deforestation in Brazil, kicked off Tesco’s roadmap to sustainable tuna and launched key sustainability innovation initiatives.
Kené’s roles at Tesco follow a 15-year career in sustainability – as a consultant at the Carbon Trust and Carnstone, as a practitioner at Cadbury and for an international leadership organisation, AIESEC.
Kené has lived and worked in Brazil, Estonia, the Netherlands, and Nigeria.
