Ian is a PHD nutritionist (so knows something about fat, salt, sugar (& calories ) & marketeer on world’s biggest snack & food brands (Snickers; M&M’s; Dove/Galaxy; Dolmio; Uncle Bens; Magnum; Ben & Jerry’s; Cornetto & Wall’s) & petfood brands (Pedigree; Whiskas; Royal Canin). Ian led Marketing for Mars China (1997 – 2006) & Unilever Ice Cream, North Asia (2006 – 2009) before heading up global Marketing for Unilever Ice Cream (from 2014).
With his truly global perspective, Ian has worked closely with brands navigating the maze of government regulations across the world - China, SEA, Turkey, Europe, LATAM, North America and UK.
Ian believes “sugar tax” & HFSS style regulations are here to stay; they will be the ‘table stakes’ brands must embrace over the next two decades (& beyond).
