The Grocer is hosting a  conference in March on the government’s HFSS crackdown.

Set for introduction in October 2022, the cost of the promotions ban alone is expected to top £3bn and will result in the biggest changes to supermarket layouts in over 40 years, according to experts.

On top of that, a ban on HFSS advertising from January 2023 will severely limit the ability of brands to market HFSS food and drink both online and on TV.

In light of these seismic changes, The Grocer is putting together a programme featuring a wide array of experts, to cover the legislation from all angles, including in-store marketing, planograms and layouts, the future of advertising, impacts on obesity, and implications for convenience stores, foodservice and online.

The ‘HFSS Clampdown Conference’ will take place on 15 March at in central London.
